CIRI has launched its first scholarship program, awarding $2,500 grants to two students to apply to their college studies. Any student with a parent who is employed by a CIRI member company is eligible to apply — except for children of CIRI board members.
Selected from a field of 10 applicants, the winning students are:
Kareena M. Allard • A graduate of St. Mary Academy – Bay View who resides in Lincoln, Kareena will attend Providence College. She intends to focus on business and accounting courses, with the goal of a career in accounting. Her father, Robert Allard, is employed by J.H. Lynch & Sons.
Kyle T. Gerlach, Jr. • A Smithfield High School graduate who lives in Greenville, Kyle will study civil and environmental engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He hopes to become an environmental engineer, working to develop more efficient and alternative energy sources. His father, Kyle Gerlach, Sr., is also employed by J.H. Lynch & Sons.
